Find Your Next Business Idea

Every time someone tells me their weekend plans, half of them turn into “actually, you know what would be a good business…” and then nothing happens with it. That’s basically why this site exists. I got tired of good ideas dying in group chats.

Some of what’s below I’ve actually run myself, with mixed results — a couple made real money, one lost me a summer, one I still think about starting again someday. Others came from people I’ve met over the years who tried something weird and it actually worked, or friends of friends who mentioned an idea over drinks and I couldn’t stop thinking about it after. A handful are ones I just noticed in the wild — a shop doing something clever, a service nobody else offers in a town, that kind of thing.

I’m not trying to sell you a course, a template, or a “get rich” system. Half of these ideas would take real work and some would probably fail if you tried them tomorrow. That’s fine — the point is to have somewhere to actually think it through before you spend money on it, not after.

Here’s how it works: every idea gets its own page with a proper breakdown — what it actually takes to start, roughly what it costs, what usually goes wrong. Then there’s a forum attached where you can ask questions, poke holes in the idea, or tell us why we’re wrong about it.

I run the forum side myself, along with a few people who’ve been around the site since early on. Between us we’ve started, sold, and shut down more businesses than I can count on both hands. If you post a question on Forum, we will answer it.

Heads up — we get a lot of messages, so it might take some time to get back to you. Worth the wait though. You’re talking to real people who’ve actually built and run businesses. No generic corporate speak, just straight answers from experience.

Welcome aboard.
